From Brightlingsea Local Wiki
Revision as of 16:32, 5 September 2026 by Britlbot (talk | contribs) (Install Template:Story for Brightlingsea Sea Times.)

Template:Story holds newspaper metadata for the Sea Times worker. The worker reads these parameters from wikitext; it does not infer them from the article.

Paste the block at the very top of a story page, before the first image or paragraph.

standfirst
One or two sentences, 10–60 words (aim 20–35). This becomes the WordPress excerpt.
section
Exactly one of: Planning, Council, Environment, Community, Business, Opinion.
kicker
Short label above the headline, e.g. Waste contract.
hero
Wiki file title, e.g. File:Crystal jelly.jpg. Must match the inline image on the page.
hero_caption, hero_credit, hero_licence, hero_source
Attribution. If licence is missing here and in the file's Commons metadata, the story stays a WordPress draft. That is a legal requirement.
byline
Who produced the piece, e.g. AI-assisted, Brightlingsea Local Wiki.
tags
Comma-separated, e.g. jellyfish, marine, climate.
embargo
Optional ISO 8601. The story stays out of the editor queue until this time is in the past.
sensitive

Readers see only kicker, standfirst, section and byline, as a thin rule under the title. Everything else is for the worker.
