These are the detailed instructions for how to scrape a story from Facebook Spotted:
- You should have the Permalink URL of a story
- Open that link using the browser tunnel to the local machine
- Require the browser tunnel to the local machine and fail loudly if it is not connected
- Pause to load all of the story and all of the comments
- Click the "Most relevant" dropdown → switch to "All comments"
- Wait for all comments to load. Facebook is slow, so give it plenty of time
- Scroll repeatedly in the relevant open tab until all comments are visible
- Click on all the "View X Replies"
- Once all replies have loaded and opened, select the entire post and all replies
- Paste the post to a Google Doc with a descriptive name based on the post
- The Google ID to use is bourdyanton@gmail.com
- Make sure that a link to the original Spotted story is pasted into the top of the Google Doc
- Echo the Google doc name and URL to the active agent output space
