===== Must read all the following into context before carrying out horizon scan =====

* [[General research instructions for the Brightlingsea wiki]]

===== Specific Instructions =====

* Use Tavily web search
* Search for any NEW pages since yesterday under each of the following search terms. You should store a list of all processed search results so that you can keep track of new search results.
** Brightlingsea
** "Essex County Council" Brightlingsea
** "Tendring District Council" Brightlingsea
** "Town Council" Brightlingsea
** "Parish Council" Brightlingsea
** '''Our representatives'''
*** Bernard Jenkin MP - X account https://x.com/bernardjenkin Substack - https://bernardjenkinmp.substack.com/p/the-failing-state
*** Aimee Keteca (Reform UK)
*** Jayne Chapman BEM (Independent)
*** Graham Steady (Independent)
*** Mick Barry (Independent)
* If there are any previously un-indexed pages from the STORIES section of [[Main Page]], then they should be added to the Headlines pages
* With any new page found in the step above:
** Anything reported about our representatives, whether or not explicitly about Brightlingsea, is relevant for horizon scanning - so report it whether or not it explicitly mentions Brightlingsea
*** This includes social media posts, where you should link to posts and summarise the kind of activity they are involved in. We do not want blow-by-blow repetition of what is on social media, but we do want an impression of what our representatives are up to and links to the underlying material
*** You should explicitly search any listed social media accounts for new content and provide a summary of these
*** If an elected representative is mentioned in a story that has been flagged, then you should highlight in the summary that they are mentioned
** Unless the story is about one of our elected representatives, assess whether a story is really relevant to Brightlingsea, the town in North Essex.
** The story does not have to mention Brightlingsea explicitly to be relevant - for example, residents of Brightlingsea have an interest in knwoing what is happen at their other tiers of government. However, make sure to provide some pointer to why the story might be relevant to Brightlingsea
** Create a 1 line summary that links to the URL for the page
** Identify a date for the story
** Create a less than 50 word summary.
*** Remember, if elected representatives are mentioned, you should flag this in the summary
*** Remember to link any social media discussion about the story in the post

* If there are any new pages, prepend a new entry under the Headlines heading in [[Headlines]] that contains "DAY MONTH YEAR"

* For each new page found, add the 1 line summary with link to underlying page; next to that, in brackets "(...)" put the date of the story; then add a new paragraph with the 50 word summary
* Place mentions of representatives on a new line
* Place any relevant social media links on a new line
